Personalised Christmas Gift Ideas
Whilst some people thrive on the build up to Christmas and the tasks that go along with it, others prefer to make it as easy as possible, and leave letting their hair down to big day itself. One factor that usually causes problems when buying presents for friends and family is the difficult purchases for those people who are impossible to buy for; either they have everything already, or last year’s present was so great it’s difficult to top. One way to get round this problem is to give a personalised gift, because after all, it is the thought that counts!
- Getting together with the kids to make handmade gifts is a great way to create something from scratch that will be treasured a lot more than any shop bought novelty item. Especially where older relatives are concerned, the gift will take centre stage in a display cabinet or on a mantelpiece, and after taking some time to think of some clever ideas for presents, it will be well worth the effort.
- Custom ‘merchandise’, such as personalised mugs or t-shirts, is another good way to give a meaningful present, whilst at the same time immortalising a precious photo. The effort involved with an offering like this is minimal, and usually involves sending the photo in question to a retailer who can print on your desired item. Again however, this sort of present shows that you have thought more about it this time round than the off the peg purchases of years gone by.
- If you really want to push the boat out for someone special with a customised gift, you can’t go too far wrong with a personalised licence plate. Perfect for new teen drivers and new car owners alike, you’re guaranteed to be in the good books for a while after a present like this. Be warned, however, the costs in administration alone for number plates – DVLA et al – can mount, not to mention the initial outlay for the plate itself, so make sure you budget comprehensively before taking the plunge.
- Chocolate is a sure fire winner, and personalised chocolate with a custom message tops even that. Most confectioners now offer this service, and it provides an easy way to offer more than a battered selection box for the stocking.
- With a modern twist on very old type of personalised gift – the photo and frame – digital photo frame can take all the negative aspects away from traditional printed photos. Simply load up the frame with some shots, and watch it play a slideshow of your favourite moments on Christmas morning.
